1. Position the tourniquet above but as close to the bleeding site as possible.

2. Pull the red loose end as tight as possible and fasten it back on itself all the way around the limb using the Velcro.

3. Twist the windlass rod and tighten it as many times as possible.

4. Place the rod inside the plastic bracket to lock it off.

5. Continue to monitor bleeding and the tourniquet. It may require tightening by adding turns to the windlass rod.
